Bassist Bill Noertker has been an active member of the musical improvising and composing community in San Francisco since 1987. He studied jazz history and theory in Pasadena in the early 80s with Bobby Bradford, Ornette Coleman's first trumpet player. He has collaborated with dancers and choreographers, composing music for dance projects with ODC's "Pilot Project," and with "Liberty's Breast: An Immigrants' Herstory," performance vignettes produced by Andrea Weber at the SF Women's Building. He is currently composing music and seeking funding for "Angels and Acrobats," a jazz ballet based on Rainer Maria Rilke's Duino Elegies.
