Sarasvati is the Hindu goddess of all arts:
music, painting, sculpture, dance, writing.
She presented the gift of writing to mankind
so that her songs could be preserved.
She is the mother of the Vedas.
She is depicted on the back of a swan or peacock,
with four arms, with which she plays the lute or drum.
She is considered to be the rival of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth.
